In recent years, the global problem of waste plastic pollution has become increasingly severe. Hundreds of millions of tons of waste plastic are discarded every year, with only a small portion being effectively recycled. Traditional disposal technologies not only lead to resource waste but also cause serious pollution to the atmosphere, soil, and water sources. Against this backdrop, chemical recycling and efficient circular utilization of waste plastics have become the focus of the global environmental protection field. Countries around the world have introduced relevant policies to promote the use of recycled plastics. The European Union has clearly stipulated that cars launched from July 2025 must use 25% recycled plastics, and the United States requires that the content of recycled materials in plastic packaging must reach at least 30% by 2030. These policies have injected strong impetus into the plastic recycling industry.Traditional physical recycling methods have high requirements for the type and quality of waste plastics. For low-value waste plastics with severe contamination and mixing, they often fail to achieve effective treatment, resulting in a large amount of utilizable resources being idle. The emergence of pyrolysis technology has opened up an important technical route for chemical recycling of plastics, breaking the limitations of traditional recycling methods and bringing hope to global sustainable development. In this field, as a leading enterprise in China’s pyrolysis technology, Niutech has taken a leading position in the industry by virtue of its independently developed “large-scale industrial continuous low-temperature pyrolysis technology and complete sets of equipment”. This technology has won China’s highest science and technology award – the National Science and Technology Progress Award.

Niutech’s continuous intelligent pyrolysis technology has many significant advantages. Firstly, it has strong raw material inclusiveness, capable of processing over 90% of single or mixed waste plastics, greatly expanding the range of recyclable plastics. Whether it is common plastic varieties such as PP, PE, PS, ABS, or nylon, they can be effectively recycled and processed in large-scale plastic pyrolysis equipment. Secondly, the continuous anti-coking process adopted ensures stable and efficient production, avoids the coking problem in traditional pyrolysis processes, and improves the operating efficiency and service life of the equipment. This technology can convert waste plastics into high-value recycled products, which can be used as new plastic raw materials after deep processing, thus forming a complete circular closed-loop and truly realizing the resource utilization of waste plastics.

Data shows that recycled plastics produced using Niutech’s waste plastic pyrolysis technology can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 57%; compared with traditional processes, this process reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 77%. In addition, pyrolysis technology also reduces reliance on non-renewable resources such as petroleum, lowering the overall environmental impact of the plastic industry.

At present, Niutech’s plastic pyrolysis technology and equipment have been widely used globally, taking root in dozens of countries and regions, including the United Kingdom and South Korea, providing effective solutions to local waste plastic treatment problems. In the Danish project, the customer successfully completed the chemical recycling of 20,000 tons of waste plastics with the help of this technology. This not only solved the problem of a large amount of waste plastic accumulation locally but also created considerable economic benefits by converting waste plastics into valuable products. It is understood that this project can reduce a large amount of carbon dioxide emissions every year, equivalent to planting tens of thousands of trees, playing a positive role in improving the local ecological environment.

In Thailand, local customers use this equipment to recycle waste plastics that are difficult to recycle through physical methods, and the oil produced after pyrolysis is converted into fuel through deep processing. This process not only solves the problem of waste plastics polluting the environment but also produces usable fuel, achieving a win-win situation of environmental and economic benefits. The person in charge of the local enterprise stated that after introducing Niutech’s technology, the enterprise’s waste plastic treatment cost has been significantly reduced, while new profit channels have been developed, and its competitiveness has been significantly enhanced.

In the future, Niutech will continue to contribute Chinese wisdom and strength to international waste plastic governance with advanced technologies, reliable equipment, and sound high-value application solutions, promoting international waste plastic governance towards a more environmentally friendly and efficient direction, and making greater contributions to building a sustainable plastic recycling system and protecting the Earth’s home.
